Ah September, a time to start a fresh we always think. The kids are back to school in their cool new kicks, the trees are starting to show some dazzling shades of orange, and it’s time for you to dazzle to with new makeup looks that are bound to catch the eye!
Summer 2017 was all about a minimal laid back luxe – a slick of mascara, a touch of bronzer, a nude lippy…but September calls for something more wow…
Colour pop
Bold and bright eyeshadows were seen across the board on the catwalks for Autumn/Winter 2017, blue, hot pink and even yellow were popular with brands such as Chanel and Moschino. Not sure if it’s wearable for everyday? Fear not, combine a small flash of colour with a liquid liner to keep the look on trend but a little more subtle.
The ‘Banana’
To those in the know, the “banana” is the curved crease in the eyelid onto which you can apply liner or shadow to create a wide-eyed effect, think sixties Twiggy. The banana is a more subtle trend than colour pop and you can use neutral tones such as beige, light grey or cream to create that doe eyed look.
Brows, brows, brows
Newsflash, brows are still big news people! Last year we saw dark statement HD brows, this year they’re defined but softer. Groomed and elegant. Think Duchess of Cambridge not TOWIE.
Rose tinted glory
Rose gold has been the colour of the summer, and it doesn’t stop there it would seem. Now instead of watches and handbags it’s blusher and lip stains. Tickled pink, rosy cheeks that make you think of chilly autumn mornings and pink pouts of just kissed lips.
Don’t forget the mani!
Statement nails are still a big thing, and now that it is September it is time to dig out the dark colours once again. Burgundy, deep blue, dark grey are all the shades that should be showcased alongside the new trends.
