The wintry streets of Kendal will light up for the festive season on Sunday the 19th of November when Father Christmas arrives in town for the big switch-on and we are SUPER proud to be supporting the event once again this year!
Our fabulous team have been busy organising a super special day here in the yard! We welcome you to take your little ones to our Christmas postbox in the yard to make sure Santa gets their letters (and await your reply!), enter our very special Christmas drawing competition on the day and you could win some BIG prizes, plus you can take part in a Christmas crafting session with the fabulous Felltarn Friends 12pm to 3pm! You might just spot an elf or two too… all here in the Elephant Yard on the 19th of November!
There will be festive cheer and music in Abbot Hall from 2pm as the reindeer arrive and santa prepares to lead the parade from Abbot Hall from 3pm. His traditional reindeer-pulled sleigh will leave Abbot Hall at 4.10pm – arriving in the town centre in time for the switch-on ceremony at 4.45pm with the Lakeland Radio stage, just next to us here in the yard!
The Lakeland radio stage is set to impress once again this year with a wonderful selection of fabulous, festive talent, once again a local hero will be nominated by the community to do the honours and set the lights twinkling as darkness falls!
We’re really rather excited to welcome you on the day here in the yard and across our lovely town! You can keep up to date with the latest news from Kendal Christmas Light directly at www.facebook.com/kendalchristmaslights or Twitter @KendalSwitchOn.
See you soon for the festivities!
