More than a good book
There’s so much more to Kendal Library than books. Great reads for the whole family are only the beginning. If you want to go more hi-tech, you can book a slot to surf the internet on one of the PCs – giving you handy internet access in the heart of town.
Borrowing is easy
You can also rent DVDs, CDs and talking books on cassette, CD, MP3 or Playaway formats, to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Or, just relax with a coffee and catch up with our newspapers and magazines.
Research your family tree
Our Local Studies library is full of fascinating facts about our past – great for school projects, researching your family tree and so much more. Here you can look at birth, marriage and death records, parish registers and newspaper archives covering the old county of Westmorland and the Lake District.
We also have a major collection of material on local geology and one of the best mountaineering collections in the country.
So, from ancient rocks to rock music, children’s books to talking books, you won’t want to miss Kendal Library!
