Kendal was in the pink thanks to the staff of Boots the Chemist on 12 September 2009.
Debbie Hutton (Manager)and Angie Traynor (Assist Manager) set out to raise as much money as possible as part of the Boots PLC imitative to support local communities around Britain.. The Kendal store set a target to cycle 1,000 miles in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Bettie Boots the cuddly bear visited 17 Boots stores around the North West over three months completing the journey here in Kendal, getting from store to store without the use of any motorized contraption.

Over a three day period 1090 miles had been achieved, thanks to members of the public, Kendal Mountain Rescue and the Cumbria Fire Brigade with lots of help from the Boots staff, and an amazing total of £2,123 was raised in conjunction with a collection during Kendal Torchlight and a Fashion Show in Elephant Yard.
