Kendal's Library Service isn't just about books - if you'd rather go more hi-tech, you can book a slot on one of our PCs to surf the internet, or borrow computer games, DVDs, videos, talking books and CDs through your local library.
Kendal is also home to a large local studies section including a research service, births, deaths and marriage records from 1837, parish registers and local newspaper archives.
The collection covers the former County of Westmorland and the Lake District. Kendal Library also holds a major collection of material on the geology of the Lake District
